Star medical contacted us looking for advice on changing a modern bland room into a traditional oak panelled meeting room and a room that could look traditional but could hide the cables and wires required to work all their high tech gadgets. After a few different options we all agreed a heritage style panel in an Oak Veneer would be the best way forward. By designing panels of roughly 400 mm x 400mm the room gave the appearance of being slightly bigger with the impresion of a higher ceiling and of course the heritage mouldings and oak dentil cornice. The skirting was also boxed out to allow for the additional cables to be hidden and an Oak veneer cabinet was made to hide the pipes and radiator.

The Wall Panelling company also supplied a new solid oak door and architave to enhance the ambience of the room. The fitting was all done on site as it would be impossible to achieve the detail, sizing and quality if the panels had been pre-made. Gary spent almost two weeks carefully panelling the walls as the room had may challenges including the ceiling being almost 25 mm out of level in some places.

When staining an Oak veneer Wall Panel its is very important to remember that once you stain a raw veneer it is virtually impossible to change the tone or colour and any stain must be applied with caution as Veneer and solids will absorb and react differently. Robbie has many years of experience within his proffesion and was able to create a superb finish.

The clients once completed installed a fireplace, a crystal chandelier and oak flooring, finishing the room off perfectly.
